<p>Blood Donors are needed for the September 14th blood drive sponsored by Poudre Valley  Health Systems  Garth Englund  Blood Donor  Center.</p>
<p>The Institute of Business and Medical Careers (IBMC) will host the Poudre Valley Garth Englund Blood Donor Center Mobile Bus at the Fort Collins Campus.</p>
<p><strong>The bus will be parked in the IBMC lot at 3842 S. Mason   St. (Between Horsetooth and Boardwalk) in Fort Collins</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>Call IBMC 970-223-2669 to schedule a time to donate.</strong></p>

<p><strong>Give Blood &#8211; Save a Life!</strong></p>
<p><strong>Information:</strong></p>
<p>Donors are requested to:</p>
<ul>
<li>Eat before donating</li>
<li>Bring a picture ID</li>
<li>Must be feeling well and healthy</li>
<li>Must weigh at least 110 pounds</li>
<li>Must be at least 18 or 17 with      a parent’s signature</li>
<li>A letter must be on file for      tattoos and body piercings within last year.</li>
</ul>
<p>The donation process begins with a brief registration and interview. The donation takes 5-15 minutes with refreshments (juice and cookies) offered afterwards.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><strong></strong>The most recent report from the<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>National<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Center<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>for Education Statistics (NCES) pertaining to a two year Associates Degree Program graduation and completion statistics: The United States (national) reported the average graduation rate of 27.8%, whereas<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Colorado<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>has a slightly higher rate at 37.50%. IBMC’s reported graduation and completion rate in the most recent reporting was at 66%, a statistic higher than the overall national and state statistics. Additionally, IBMC ranked higher than the 4 year degree programs nationally and statewide per graduation and completion rates.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">Steve Steele President of IBMC states that “We do everything in our power to help our students. A high monthly retention rate &#8211; averaging about 94% &#8211; coupled with an incredible 90% job placement ratio is another measure of our student’s success at IBMC.”<span> </span>Rich Laub CEO and owner of IBMC added, that “Our student’s achievements are tied to our vision statement of “Caring Individuals, Changing Lives.”</p>

Graduation rates are associated with first-year retention rates. The stage at which most students abandon their pursuit of a degree is during their first year. If a state has high proportions of students dropping out during the first year, it&#8217;s difficult to recover to relatively high graduation rates.
