IBMC students enrolled in the Theraputic Massage Program worked behind the scenes at the 9Health Fair offering free chair massage to those volunteering for the fair. This is what you call “win-win.” The students gain experience outside of the classroom and volunteers get to loosen up a few knots they gained while working the fair.

IBMC students volunteer their time at the 9Health Fair
Wednesday, April 29th, 2009When I visited the 9Health Fair on Saturday April 25th, I was surprised by the amount of people at the fair. So many that I had trouble finding a parking space. But the fair is such a great service to the citizens of Colorado it makes sense for so many to take advantage of it. And having so many people at the fair is also good for the IBMC students volunteering. Especially those in the Healthcare Programs.
Here is another short video of an IBMC student talking about her experience at the fair:

IBMC students gain real world experience at the 9Health Fair
Monday, April 27th, 2009Every year the 9Health Fair helps the people of Colorado through its mission of promoting health awareness and encouraging individuals to assume responsibility for their own health. IBMC students play a big part in helping the fair do just that. Whether it is taking blood pressure, drawing blood, answering questions, or by offering massages to the fair’s volunteers IBMC plays a vital role in make the 9Health Fair successful.
I stopped by the fair in Fort Collins on Saturday April 25th and shot some video if the IBMC students in action.
