IBMC’s classes are scheduled in 5 week cycles. This allows new students to begin their career training without having to wait months for a new semester to begin. Today was orientation day for the next group of students eager to begin their new career path.

One thing I’ve grown to appreciate about IBMC is how much they value student’s time. This means they do not waste it. Orientation is well organized and runs very smooth with students going from one station seamlessly to the next. Which is a good thing, but it can make it hard for a blog guy to meet and talk with a student. Though I was able to talk to one student for a few minutes.

Corey is a person who has a lot of experience and skills but felt he lacked the specialized training needed to have a solid and secure career. He did some shopping around for schools and decided on IBMC because it was more friendly, less expensive, more hands-on, and gave him a better overall feeling than the other schools he met with.

Corey is a stay at home dad so IBMC’s evening classes work for his schedule. He said that he was excited to started classes but also a little anxious about it as well. When I asked him about that he said he is not a fan of school. Understandable sentiment. But I know that Corey will soon learn that IBMC, even though it is a top notch learning institution, does not feel like a school. Though I admit that is easy for me to say since I am not taking classes.

I look forward to catching up with Corey as he pursues his new path at IBMC. It will be exciting to see his life change.
